Adella Sindelar Obituary
Adella M. Sindelar, 93 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johns' Catholic Church in Houghton with Father Joseph Phung officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant until 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 10 until service time on Tuesday at St. Johns' Catholic Church in Houghton where a rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Adella was born on September 12, 1918, at Dodge, Nebraska, the daughter of Vencel & Mary Kahounova Martinek. She was united in marriage to William Paul Sindelar on November 17, 1939, at Dodge Nebraska. Adella was a homemaker and always had a huge garden, she enjoyed to cook, baking items for bazars, making dolls, reading and shopping. She worked at Henry County Care Facility while she was living there working in the kitchen. She was a member of the St. Johns' Catholic Church in Houghton.
Adella is survived by her children: Florence (Joe) Yocum, Loretta Sindelar, and David Sindelar all of Mt. Pleasant and Alan Sindelar of Hillsboro. 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son: Melvin and her sister: Wilhelmina.
