Allen Dale McDade, 58, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in the emergency room of the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Allen was born on November 8, 1964, at Canton, Illinois the son of Robert Donald and Janice Irene (Schmidt) McDade. Allen was proud of serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. Allen was united in marriage to Rebecca Lynne Brown on June 21, 1986, in Muscatine. From this marriage came a very strong love for each other that will last for eternity. He was a very loving and kind person who had touched many people's lives. Most of all his family was his deepest love; he was known by his grandchildren as "Papa". He enjoyed playing games on his phone, making hope "chests" and riding his motorcycle. Allen was employed at Lowes in Burlington and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Lynne, of Mt. Pleasant and his children, Joshua James McDade, Natasha Lynne McDade, both of Mt. Pleasant, Samantha Kay (Gary) Roth, of Burlington and Alexandra Dale (Asher) McCane, of Mt. Pleasant, 17 grandchildren, his mother, Janice McDade, of Bushnell, Illinois and his sister, Angela Jo Jacobus, of Prairie City, Illinois.
Allen was preceded in death by his father and one grandchild.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mt. Pleasant. Military Honors will be conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard following the service. According to his wishes cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
