Anna Marie (Bollinger) Woodsmall

Anna Marie Woodsmall, 93, of Salem passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington. 

 Anna was born on May 8, 1931, the daughter of William Rits and Maggie Elizabeth (Haynes) Bollinger.  Anna was united in marriage to Robert E. Woodsmall on February 21, 1948 in Burlington.  He preceded her in death in 1982.  Anna enjoyed working in her garden, canning her produce and working in her flower gardens.  She was a wonderful cook.  Anna was an avid football fan especially the Kansas City Chiefs.  She was of the Methodist faith.

 She is survived by her two sons, Roger (Marla) Woodsmall  of Morning Sun and Roy Woodsmall of Salem, her grandchildren, Kelly Green, Crystal Sceles, Nick Barber, Sawyer Woodsmall, Jacob Woodsmall, Lucas Woodsmall, Lisa Mertens Dakota Woodsmall and Demetrius Woodsmall, along with several great and great great grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sons, Ernie Woodsmall, William Woodsmall, David Woodsmall and one daughter, Roberta (Bobi) Stevens, one grandson, Nathan Woodsmall and two granddaughters, Laura DeSpain and Tami DeSpain.

 Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kossuth Cemetery, Mediapolis, Iowa, with Pastor Jeff Duffy officiating.  A memorial has been established in her memory. According to Anna’s wishes cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
