Betty Seibert Obituary

Alice Elizabeth "Betty" Seibert 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Park Place Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Herb Shafer officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends from 10 until service time on Tuesday at the Murphy Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in her memory.

Betty was born on April 10, 1924 at Haydock, Iowa the daughter of James Washington & Margaret Ann Jobusch Bloodsworth. She attended schools in Albia and Eddyville. She was united in marriage to John Kenneth Seibert on March 12, 1946 at Ottumwa. Betty was employed by the Iowa Mental Health Institute for 19 years working in housekeeping and sewing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. Betty was a wonderful cook, enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and collecting cookbooks. She found great joy in the company of her children and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her children: Tom Seibert and his wife Carolyn L. of Burlington, Ken Seibert and his wife Ava of Mt. Pleasant and Sue Melvin and her husband Jim of Rhineland, Missouri. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Four brothers: Fredrick Bloodsworth of Albia, Robert Bloodsworth and Albert Bloodsworth both of Oskaloosa and Russell Bloodsworth of Aurora, CO. Four sisters: Dorothy Belzer of Oskaloosa, Mary Simmers of Eddyville, Alberta Applegate of Ottumwa and Jane Levy of Paso Robles, CA. Many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John on August 22, 1994, brothers: James, Phillip and Thomas Bloodsworth and sister: Mildred Wilson.
