Brian D. Burden

Brian D. Burden, 60, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

 Brian was born on December 11, 1962, in Mt. Pleasant the son of Jackie Lee and Carol (White) Burden.  After the death of Jack, Carol married John F. Sammons. Brian graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School with the class of 1982.  He was united in marriage to Kim Savely on July 1, 1989.  They later divorced.  He graduated top of his class from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Arizona in 2013.  Brian enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles, a good nap, spending time with his family and his dog Hurley.  He was a Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeye fan.

 He is survived by his children, Zachary Burden, Spenser (Leah) Burden, Sidney Burden and Tyler Burden, four grandchildren, Payton, Landry, Cooper and Miles, one brother, Doug Burden and one sister, Denise Cosgrove.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Rhonda Sammons and one brother, Johnnie Sammons.

 His family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.  A memorial has been established in his memory.  Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
