Carl V. Septer

Carl V. Septer 82, of Lockridge passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25th at 10:30 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials maybe directed to the care of his son.

Carl was born on January 16, 1928, in Salem, Iowa the son of John & Celesta Hockett Septer. He was united in marriage to Virginia Avery on November 26, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa; she preceded him in death on April 7, 2002. He lived in Salem, Birmingham, Fairfield areas before moving to Lockridge where he made his home for 48 years. He farmed his entire life milking cows for 50 yrs, broke and sold horses, enjoyed hunting going to auctions and enjoyed baling hay. Carl was a good husband, farther and grandfather.

Carl is survived by his children: Terry (Diane) Septer of Lockridge, Tom (Tina) Septer of Fairfield, Judy (Bill) Aplara, Doug Septer, Brian (Kristen) Septer and Carla Septer and her fiancé Doug Dye all of Lockridge, six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren, his brother Marvin (Norene) Septer of Fairfield.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, an infant granddaughter and his sister Lola Williamson.
