Carol Kay Kiefer 49 of Antioch, Tennessee and formerly of Fairfield passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 at her home in Tennessee after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at11:00 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Bob Hartzler officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery rural Wayland, Iowa. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Carol was born on March 8, 1960, in Fairfield, Iowa the daughter of Earl Dean & Vera Mae Freshour McCabe. She attended Fairfield High School, and was united in marriage to Randy Kiefer, the later divorced. She was a daycare provider, and loved to go shopping, crossword puzzles, collecting purses and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Baptist Church in LaVergne, Tennessee.
Carol is survived by her son Jeff Kiefer and his wife April of LaVergne, Tennessee, her father and stepmother: Dean & Doreen McCabe of Milan, Missouri, her mother Vera McCabe and friend Homer McCord of Antioch, Tennessee, two sisters: Linda Hunt and her husband Stacy of LaVergne, Tennessee, Jane Miller and her husband Jim of Wayland, Iowa and two brothers: Earl McCabe and his wife Rochelle of Fairfield, Iowa and Kenny McCabe and his wife Bev of Junction City, Kansas. Several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her grandparents and aunts and uncles.
