Charlie Webb Wells, 80, formerly of Stockport, entered heaven's glory on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at his home in Zionsville, Indiana, after battling pancreatic cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Aaron Helterbran officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Lambirth Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Gideon's International Organization in his memory.
Charlie was born on June 5, 1934, in Birmingham, the son of Esmond & Evangie Collier Wells. He graduated from Stockport High School and Parsons College in Fairfield. He was united in marriage to Janice A. Heckenberg on June 9, 1957.
He was involved in the insurance claims business for most of his career, for a short time, he owned and operated a cabinet refacing business. He was always active in his local church, serving as deacon, usher, Awana leader, and youth sponsor in various churches. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and golfing.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Janice; one son, Michael of Colorado Springs, Co; daughter, Loretta (David) Moeckly of Zionsville, IN; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
