Chester Brown Obituary
Chester L. Brown 91 of the Cedar Creek Community passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 10:30 at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant wit the Rev. Don Coffin officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday February 18, 2007 at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home. There will be no family visitation. Memorials may be made to the Salem Library in his memory.
Chester was born on October 14, 1915, on the family farm, the son of Emerson & Annis McDowell Brown. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Jacob Ford on June 11, 1955 in Memphis Missouri. He farmed in the Cedar Creek community all his life. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Friends Church, Moose Lodge of Mt. Pleasant, former member of the National Farmers Organization and the Salem Rodeo Saddle Club.
He is survived by his wife of Mt. Pleasant, one daughter Phyllis Williams of Quartzsite, AZ and one step daughter Sharyl VanDorin and one stepson Dennis Ford both of Mt. Pleasant. 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great -great grandchildren. One sister Lena Burkey of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
