Dale Penn Obituary
Dale C. Penn 90, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at his home.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Home Cemetery with Chaplain Jim Luder officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday until 7:00 p.m. there will be no family visitation. A memorial has been established in his memory.
Dale was born on April 8, 1918, at Peru, Iowa the son of Tom & Esther Irene Piatt Penn. He served his country in the Army from 1942 to 1945. On April 22, 1942 he was united in marriage to Ruth M. Brownell. After he was discharged from the service he work for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 36 years until his retirement in 1982. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a member of the V.F. W. of Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Penn of Mt. Pleasant and his niece Shirley Ulin of Mt. Pleasant, great nephews, Jerry Ulin of Grinnell and Kevin Ulin of Mt. Pleasant, one great-great nephew Zachary Ulin of Grinnell.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers: Harold and Don and two sisters: Edna and Agatha.
