Donald Harris Obituary

Donald J. Harris, 58 of Crawfordsville, died Wednesday August 5th, 2015, at the Parkview Manor in Wellman from injures received from a motorcycle accident July 5, 2015.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Earl Swigart officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. A memorial has been established in his memory.

Don was born August 17, 1956, in Washington the son of Olin and Deloris (Wilson) Harris. He married Patrise Taylor on February 14, 1984. They later divorced.
Don attended Washington public schools. He joined the United States Army in 1973 and was stationed in Germany. He worked for many years for the railroad and drove a truck. Don enjoyed demo derby's, riding motorcycles, spending time with his sons and granddaughters and a good game of chess.

Don is survived by his mother Deloris Harris of Mt. Pleasant, 3 sons Derek (Kaci) Harris of Crawfordsville, Dylan Harris of Washington, Darcey Harris of Washington, 4 brothers, Roger Harris of Washington, Craig (Delrean) Harris of Iowa City, Larry Harris of Mt. Pleasant, Shawn Harris of Iowa City. 5 sisters Faye Mason of Iowa City, Sharon (Ed) Bright of Fredonia, Naomi (Bud) Dameron of Mission Texas, Marj (Tim) Miller of Mt. Pleasant and Anita (Dallas) Parker of Trenton. 3 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Olin (Sonny) Harris, one niece and nephew & brother-in-law, Scott Hotle.
