Dorothy Spray Obituary
Dorothy Hope Spray 88 of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Hillsboro passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Monday December 10, 2007 at the funeral home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Dorothy was born on June 2, 1919, at Ft. Madison, Iowa the daughter of William & Hazel Nye Bye. On February 14, 1951 she was united in marriage to Samuel Robert Spray in Kirksville, Missouri. Before her marriage she worked at Schaeffer Pen in Ft. Madison for 14 years, after her marriage she helped her husband on the family farm at Hillsboro. She was a member of the ALPHA Club.
She is survived by her two daughters: Becky Ewing and her husband Lee of Stockport, IA and Dee Ann Patterson and her husband Mark of Wilton, IA. Two grandchildren: Zachary & Kayla Jacobsmeier. Two brothers: Gary Bye of Cedar Rapids and Larry Bye of Ft. Madison and one sister Margaret Vice of Ft. Madison.
Hope was preceded in death by her parents, husband one brother Bobby and one sister Maxine.
