Dorothy J. Wagner, 77, of Salem passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015, at her
Home in Salem.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the Salem East Cemetery in Salem with Rev. David Legge officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Dorothy was born on February 14, 1938, at Germanville, Iowa, the daughter of John & Ida Boese Wieneke. She was united in marriage to Chester R. Wagner on May 26, 1962 at Germanville; he preceded her in death on December 5, 1998. She worked at various jobs before going to work at Metromail in Mt. Pleasant until she retired. She enjoyed collecting Santa Claus's, salt and pepper shakers and quilting. Dorothy was a member of the Salem Congregational Church.
She is survived by her children: John (Vanessa) Wagner of Salem, Ronald (Karen) Wagner of Ft. Madison and Kamie Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, seven grandchildren, two adopted grandchildren and two adopted great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Earl "Jack Wieneke, Junior Wieneke and one sister, Emma Wieneke.
