Edna M. Roberts, 91, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the New London Specialty Care Center.
Edna was born on June 29, 1932, at Yarmouth, Iowa the daughter of Jack & Isabelle Mae (Stafford) Thacker. Edna was united in marriage to Otis Ervin Roberts on February 27, 1965, in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2009. She worked for Sylvania Electric in West Burlington, then she went to work for Heatilator of Mt. Pleasant and retired from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant. She helped Otis on the farm, raised lots of flowers and a large garden. Edna enjoyed going to garage sales, watching television and watching her birds. Edna was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Wayne Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, two sisters, Agnes Thacker and Laura Samuels both of Muscatine and two brothers, John Thacker of Burlington and Robert Thacker of Muscatine along with several nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Otis, three sisters, Betty Waterhouse, Mable Green, Mary Ann Thacker in infancy, four brothers, Roger Thacker, James Thacker, Buddy Thacker in infancy and George Thacker.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in her memory.
