Ellis W. Nichols 74 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011, at his home in Mt. Pleasant.
According to his wishes his body has been cremated and no services are planned.
Ellis was born on September 29, 1936 at Ollie, Iowa the son of Lawrence Henry & Bertha Calhoun Nichols. He was united in marriage to Maxine Judd on June 17, 1979. He was a trucker driver for Iowa Parcel Services of Des. Moines until his retirement. He enjoyed watching wrestling, listening to country music and attending Old Thrashers.
He is survived by his wife Maxine of Mt. Pleasant, and his children: Alan Nichols (Monica) of Dallas City, Rhonda Flatt (Brad) and Randy Nichols (Jean) all of Stronghurst, Lisa Klees (Peter) of Burlington, Jeremy Nichols and Peggy Nichols both of Keokuk, Mike Nichols and Chuck Foster both of Mt. Pleasant, Robin Foster of Mediapolis, Dee Young (Des) of Mt. Pleasant. 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Two brothers: Robert Nichols (Francis) of Brighton and Bill Nichols (Mary Sue) of Lockridge, one sister: Erma Jean Green of Panhandle, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Bobby Jo, two grandsons and one brother Lawrence.
