Elmer L. Schrock 88 of Maquoketa and a longtime Wayland resident passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church rural Wayland with Pastor Nathan Luitjens and Pastor Bob Hartzler officiating. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Sugar Creek Cemetery in his memory.
Elmer was born on August 30, 1920, in Shelbyville, Illinois the son of Daniel W. & Anna Roth Schrock. He was united in marriage to Josephine K. Richard on March 23, 1954 at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland, Iowa. He farmed in the Wayland community for almost 50 years. He was a member of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church.
Elmer is survived by his sisters: Mabel, Bessie, Bertha, Lillie, Esther and Lydia Ann. Three brothers: Ervin, Jacob and Howard. His Aunt Ellen Roth Clark and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and five brothers.
