Elwood Stevens McDaniel

 Elwood Stevens McDaniel, 79, of rural Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

 Steven was born on January 19, 1945, in Riverside, Maryland, the son of Morgan Alfred and Mary Alice (Stevens) McDaniel.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Ellen Timmons on May 4, 1974; she preceded him in death on March 17, 2008.  Steven worked for the United States Postal Service in Falls Church, Virginia and later at Culpeper Baptist Home in Culpeper, Virginia until his retirement in 2018.  He enjoyed relic hunting of Civil War History and was a very gifted person in painting and wood working projects. 

He is survived by his children, Sean (Gena) McDaniel and Terri Hicks, his grandchildren, Heather, Laura, Kandice and Tiffany, his great grandchildren, Cherish, Treyson, Jedidiah, Lazarus, Mason, Ruby, Wesley and Oliver. 

 Steven was preceded death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers.

 No services are planned at this time and cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
