Esther Hirschy Obituary
Esther M. Hirschy 82, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the New London Nursing and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trenton Missionary Church in Trenton with Rev. David Forrester officiating. Burial will be in the Green Mound Cemetery west of Trenton. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday at the Murphy Funeral Home where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Trenton Missionary Church or to the Green Mound Cemetery in her memory.
Esther was born on November 6, 1928, west of Trenton, the daughter of Joseph L. & Alice Brannon Graber. She was united in marriage to Elwyn J. Hirschy on September 21, 1948 at Trenton Missionary Church in Trenton. She was a waitress at local restaurants and later owned and operated the Geode Restaurant in New London for 13 years. She was a member of the Trenton Missionary Church of Trenton.
She is survived by her children: Karen Hirschy of Goshen, Ind. Norman Hirschy of Mt. Pleasant, and Sandra McVey of Hiawatha, Iowa. 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Her brother: John Graber of Mt. Pleasant, sisters: Ruth Wyse of Mt. Pleasant, Marilyn Davison of New London and Josephine Connor of Mt. Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Kenneth Graber, and an infant step grand-daughter.
