Ethel M. Cash 98, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2009
at Park Place Long Term Care Center.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30th at 2:00 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Activity Fund at Park Place in her memory.
Ethel was born on October 30, 1910 in Henry County, Iowa the daughter of Gilbert F. & Susan Kinney Scarff. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1928, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Cash on September 7, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant. They lived in Elgin, Illinois for a few years before moving to the Pleasant Point area where they lived for 48 yrs on the farm and retired in 1980 and moved to Mt. Pleasant. She had worked at Hoaglin's 5 & 10 Store in Mt. Pleasant for a short time, she was a wonderful cook and enjoyed to play cards, crochet and sew. She was a member of the Oakland Mills Community Church, and the Oakland Mills Ladies Aid since 1934.
Ethel is survived by her daughter: Retha Miller and her husband Jaye of Kirksville, Missouri, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 5 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son James and 1 grandchild and 3 brothers.
