Eva Wolfe Obituary

Eva A. Wolfe 98 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday. February 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Ted Munson and Rev. Dan Munson officiating. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church in her memory. Following the service her body will be cremated and burial will be in the Center Chapel Cemetery at Keosauqua at a later date.

Eva was born on January 13, 1910 at Stockport, Iowa the daughter of Marion J. & Hattie F. Webber Munson. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Wolfe on August 24, 1937 in Keosauqua, Iowa. She attended the University of Minnesota from 1928 to 1929, State University of Iowa from 1929 to 1930. She taught grade school in Stockport, Keosauqua and at Pleasant Lawn. She went on to finish her college education and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with her bacholer's degree. She went on to teacher English and Home Economics at Danville and West Burling Public Schools until she retired in 1974. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Daughter of the American Revolution, Henry County Retired Teachers Association of which she was president from 1976 to 1978, Daughters of the Nile, Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed music, reading, sewing and dancing.

Eva is survived by her daughter Sharon Timon of Santa Fe, New Mexico one grandson Tony and three great grandchildren: Michael, Nichols and Matthew. Her brother Harold and his wife Mary Munson of Lockridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters: Grace McTee and Marjorie Linn.
