Evelyn Bell Obituary
Evelyn R. Bell, 91 of Salem passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Salem Friends Church in Salem with Daryl Coffin officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Salem East Cemetery at Salem, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the Salem Friends Church.
Evelyn was born on December 29, 1919, in Henry County the daughter of John E. & Ida Pearl Schulz Lee. She was united in marriage to Pearl Septer on November 24, 1951, he preceded her in death in 1974. She later married Richard Bell on December 29, 1976, he preceded her in death in May of 1987. She was an active member of the Salem Friends Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by her children: Art Savage (Linda) of Omaha, Nebraska and Tim Savage (Karen) of Murray Nebraska, Louise Schumaker (Darrell) of TN, Alice Laun (George) of Baxter, Kentucky, Elizabeth Abbott (Larry) of Jacksonville Ark, Dennis Septer (Cindy) of Avoca, Janet Beachy (Roy) of Kalona, and Marty Septer of Burlington; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother Lloyd Lee of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, four sisters: Irene, Dorothy, Opal and Wilma and three brothers: Elmer, Harry and John Jr.
