Frances Brown Obituary
Frances I. Brown 97 formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Lutheran Home in Muscatine.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Elaine Vass officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 9:30 until service time. Memorials have been established to the Olds United Church of Christ or to the American Red Cross Flood Relief Fund.
Frances was born on October 27, 1910, in Bennet Nebraska the daughter of Harlan and Nellie Ross Foster. She graduated from Olds High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College. Before her marriage she taught school in New London. She was united in marriage to John S. Brown on June 8, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant he preceded her in death in 1995. After her marriage she helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Olds United Church of Christ, and the Social Club.
She is survived by her son Ronald Brown and his wife Roberta of Lexington, Kentucky and her son-in-law Jerry Howard of Muscatine. 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter Beverly, her brother Floyd and her sister Dorothy.
