Franklin C. Jewett 90 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2008
at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Home Cemetery with Rev. Sue Ann Cubbage officiating. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Monday ay the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association in his memory.
Franklin was born on January 11, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant the son of Cecil & Bertha Fetrow Jewett. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and served his country in the Navy during WW II. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Slusher in January 1, 1939 in Memphis Missouri. Franklin worked for Mills Electric and farmed in Henry County. He was a 60 yr member of the Odd Fellows and a 50 yr member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed wood working and going fishing.
He is survived by his sons: Gary Jewett and Fred Jewett and his wife Pam all of Mt. Pleasant. Nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. His brother: Robert Jewett of Norwich New York and his sister Elizabeth Kerr of Danville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one daughter Janet.
