Gabrielle Mary “Gabby” Hill, 30, of rural New London passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home.
She was born on March 19, 1994, in Burlington, the daughter of Russell Dean and Jacqueline Mary (Becker) Hill. Gabby was active in Girl Scouts, dance, and marching band. She loved all sports, playing softball, volleyball, and basketball. Her nick name for sports was G-unit. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa State Cyclones fan. Gabby graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School with the class of 2012. Following graduation she went to Southeastern Community College in West Burlington for two years, then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa for a year. Gabby worked at various places including Pizza Ranch, Wal Mart, Casey’s and most recently Mackay Mitchell Envelope Co. Gabby was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant where she was active in different areas.
Gabby is survived by her children who she loved and cherished dearly, Daniella M. Hill, Bienvenu “Beni” D. Hill, Donal Hill and Deshawn M. Hill, her parents, Russell and Jacqueline Hill, all of rural New London, her sisters and brother, Jessica (Andrew) Denner, Polk City Iowa, Ashley (Michael) Evans, Washington, Iowa, and Brenden (Danielle) Hill, New London, Iowa, her nieces and nephew, Amara Evans, Avery Evans and Isaac Denner along with many cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant with Father Nick Adam celebrating the mass. Burial will follow in the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. A memorial has been established for her children’s education.
