Genevieve Messer Obituary
Genevieve Messer 95 of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of the Trenton community passed away on Thursday February 12, 2009 at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 10:00 a.m. February 16, 2009 at the Green Mound Church of God west of Trenton with Pastor Jim Stott officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Murphy Funeral hom ein Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Genevieve was born on October 18, 1913, in rural Henry County the daughter of Rollie & Nellie Norton Hyde. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1932, and was united in marriage to Guy A. Messer on November 6, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2004. She taught school in Henry County for 48 years and retired in 1980 from Pleasant Lawn School. She was a member of the Green Mound Church of God west of Trenton.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Helen Henson and one brother Leroy Hyde.
