Gerald Heisel Obituary
Gerald L. Heisel 72, of Lockridge passed away on Sunday. October 31, 2010 at his home in Lockridge.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Glasgow Cemetery rural Lockridge with Rev. Earl Swigart officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or to the family in his memory.
Gerald was born on June 1, 1938, at Stockport the son of Virgil H. & Loretha M. Watson Heisel. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1958, and was united in marriage to Shirley M. Lemley on August 15, 1958, at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. He farmed and later went to work for Rockwell International in Fairfield retiring in 1997 after 34 yrs. Gerald enjoyed making birdhouses and shelves, visiting with family and friends and doing kind deeds for people.
Gerald is survived by his wife Shirley of Lockridge, his daughter Cindy Bolte and her husband Paul of Troy, Missouri and his son Doug Heisel of Ottumwa, his grandchildren: Jessica Heisel, Shenelle and Reno Mahan, and Scott Puffinbarger.
He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter Sherry Lyn Heisel.
