Glen Ridinger Obituary

Glen R. Ridinger 98, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Park Place Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Pat Youngquist officiating. Burial will be in the Green Mound Cemetery west of Trenton. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. The family will also receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to Park Place in his memory.

Glen was born on April 26, 1911, near Trenton the son of Dwight F. & Nona Smith Ridinger. He was united in marriage to Leota M. Lyon on March 13, 1935, at the home of Rev. Bill Weston in Mt. Pleasant. He farmed and fed cattle north of Mt. Pleasant until he retired in 1977 and moved to Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed telling jokes, and going to coffee. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant.

Glen is survived by his son Dwight and his wife Marilyn of Mt. Pleasant, two grandchildren: Curtis (Renee) Ridinger and Coleen (Darrell) Mullin all of Mt. Pleasant. 4 great grandsons: Derek Mullin, Duston Ridinger, Jason Mullin and Brandon Ridinger and one great-great grand-daughter Miranda Ridinger. one sister: Edith Gray of Oskaloosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one infant son Donald, one brother Rex and three sisters: Mary Gholson, Thelma Stanley and Ruth Patterson.
