Gloria Leonard Obituary
Gloria Patricia Leonard 90, of Mt .Pleasant passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014, at Park Place Elder Living Center in Mt. Pleasant.
According to her wishes her body has been cremated and services will be on July 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Scotland Cemetery in New Scotland, New York. There will be no local services. Memorials may be directed to the Midwest Old Threshers for benches and trees and may be sent to the family at 1200 North Main Street Mt. Pleasant.
Gloria was born on October 9, 1923 in Albany, New York the daughter of John A. & Ethel (Betty) Moak Hotaling. She graduated from the Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar New York, and was united in marriage to Boynton Leonard on October 17, 1942, in Delmar New York, and he preceded her in death on February 29, 1992. Gloria worked at the Syracuse University and later at the Albany Medical College retiring in 1985, then moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1987. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Voorheesville, New York and the New Salem Fire Auxiliary of New Salem, New York. She enjoyed attending Midwest Old Threshers, knitting and spending time with her family.
Gloria is survived by her children: Leah Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, Dr. Paul Leonard (Kris) of Jasper, GA, David Leonard (Susan) of Chandler, AZ and Jean Leonard (Tony LaRusso) of Syracuse, New York; her grandchildren: Scott Wilson (Jennifer) of Marengo, IL, Danielle Davidson (Dale) of Mt. Pleasant, Christopher Leonard (Tonja) of Baldwinsville, New York, Jennifer Brown (Dennis) of Springhill, FL, Benjamin Leonard (Erin) of Chittenango, New York, Carl Michael Leonard of Syracuse, New York, Kari Osborne-Davies of Syracuse, New York, Becca Bouligny (Larry) of Fillmore, CA and Ashley Osborne of Syracuse, New York. 32 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; her sister Audrey Meineker of Troy New York.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two children: Joan Leonard and Daniel Leonard and 2 great grandchildren; Nathan and Della and two brothers; John (Bud) Hotaling and William Leight Hotaling.
