Helen Byerly Obituary
Helen B. Byerly 93, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Burial will be in the Salem East Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Salem East Cemetery in her memory.
Helen was born on July 17, 1920, at Oakville, Iowa the daughter of Charlie & Harriet Wyerman Keller. She graduated from the Huron High School in 1939. Helen was united in marriage to Everett R. Byerly on February 22, 1941, in Mediapolis, Iowa, he preceded her in death on June 7, 2004. She and her husband farmed south of Mt. Pleasant for many years. Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by her children: Betty Fuller (Wayne) and Martha Brown (E. Mike) both of Salem; grandchildren: Mikayla Brown, Kathy Hites and Nancy McGohan, great grandchildren: Ethan and Elijah McGohan.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers: Ivan, Howard and John.
