Helen M. Moehle, 79, of Mt. Pleasant formerly of Stockport passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at her home in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday, at the Murphy Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Helen was born on July 18, 1936, at Salem, Iowa the daughter of Thomas McKinley and Lena Marie Watson Willis. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and was united in marriage to Lewis "Orlo" Moehle on April 4, 1953, at the Pleasant Hill Church. She helped her husband on the family farm in rural Stockport, worked at the Stockport Mini Mart and was the manager of the Stockport Café. Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, South Center Club, was a former 4-H Leader, Girl Scouts Leader, Band Parents and served on the Stockport Library Board, Good Samaritans and was United Methodist Women's District Treasurer. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and sewing, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Orlo of Mt. Pleasant and her children; Diane Patrick of Bellmead, Texas, James (Laura) of New London, Norma (James) Panther of Iowa City and her son-in-law; Eldon Taeger of Hillsboro, three grandchildren; Tom (Karin) Panther, Brendon (Brianne) Panther and Marcus Taeger, along with several nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Susan Taeger, her brother Dale Willis, a sister in infancy Hazel Irene, and a son-in-law Stephen Patrick.
