Helen Overton, 90 of Mt. Pleasant passed away at her home on Monday, January 22, 2007.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Clay Grove Cemetery rural Donnellson. Rev. Judith Holcomb will officiate. Friends may call beginning at noon on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Clay Grove Cemetery Association in her memory.
Helen was born on July 25, 1916, in rural Salem Iowa, the daughter of Bert & Cora Crane Cooper. She was united in marriage to Clifford M. Overton on October 3, 1940. He preceded her in death in January of 1985. She retired from Metromail in Mt. Pleasant after 22 years. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, crocheting and spending time with her friends at the boat.
She is survived by her son Tim Overton and his wife Elma and her grandson Tadd all of Donnellson. Iowa.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, one daughter-in-law, one brother and two sisters.
