Inez Nelson Obituary
Inez E. Nelson 73 of Bonaparte and formerly of Lockridge passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the New Sweden Lutheran Church rural Lockridge. Burial will be in the New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Monday where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Inez was born on January 8, 1936, at Terre Haute, Illinois. She graduated from the Terre Haute High School, and continued her education graduating from the Burlington School of Nursing. She was united in marriage to Larry Nelson on November 30, 1959 in Burlington, Iowa. Inez worked at several hospitals around the country in the surgery department some of theses include, Nashville TN, Las Vegas, NV, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. She was the first lady on the Lockridge Fire Department and help start the Lockridge First Responders. She a member of the First Augustana Lutheran Church of Lockridge.
She is survived by her husband Larry of Bonaparte, three children: Rob Nelson of Lockridge, Pamatha Neeley of Bonaparte and Alan Nelson of Texas. 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. One step grand-daughter. Her sister: Norma Ballard of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter: Linda.
