Jack Peebler 86, of Red Bluff, California and former Libertyville resident passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at his home in Red Bluff, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
According to his wishes his body has been cremated and memorial services will be held on September 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Veteran's Hall in Colfax, California. A memorial has been established to the St. Elizabeth Hospice 1425 Vista Way, Red Bluff, California 96080. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Fell Cemetery libertyville, Iowa.
Jack was born on February 20, 1922 in Fairfield the son of Ellis & Mae Watson Peebler. After graduating form Libertyville High School he moved to Long Beach, California where he began working in the shipyards as a welder. He was united in marriage to Patricia Bishop in Los Vegas, Nevada on February 15, 1942. Jack enlisted in the armed services and served his country proudly for three years during WW II., as a member of the Navy Seabees. He was stationed at numerous locations throughout the Pacific Theater. In 1982 Jack retired from the United Air Lines after 30 years of services, while employed with them Jack and his family lived in Oregon and Northern California. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Dutch Flat, California and also belonged to the Shriners and Scottish Rite both in Sacramento and Los Vegas.
Jack is survived by his wife Patty of Red Bluff, California, his son Dennis Peebler and his wife Linda of Cottonwood, California 2 granddaughters, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
