Jeffrey R. "Hef" McLain, 50 of Lockridge passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the New Sweden United Methodist Church rural Lockridge with Pastor Dianne Brokken officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after noon on Thursday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established in his memory.
Jeff was born on December 10, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant the son of John R. & Patsy M. Pohren McLain. He graduated in 1984 from Fairfield High School. Jeff lived life to the fullest helping his family and friends whenever in need. He had worked at Lance in West Burlington for 7 years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars, music and refinishing furniture. He enjoyed riding his Harley and his chinchilla "chili rat". He was a member of the New Sweden United Methodist Church.
Jeff is survived by his children; Brandy Jo McLain (Jesse Meredith) of Ottumwa, Alisha McElroy (Travis) of Fairfield, grandchild Baby M, his parents John and Pat McLain of Lockridge, his brother Chuka McLain (Jen) of Lockridge, nieces and nephews Jacob, Matthew, Katie, and Samara.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
