Jeffrey Scott Hartman, 50, of Burlington and formerly of Fairfield passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at his home in Burlington.
Jeff was born on September 16. 1975, in Davenport the son of Douglas K. and Carolyn (Blakely) Hartman. Throughout his life he struggled with health problems but that never kept him down. He worked with his cousin Rick Cook as a painter for 25 years, and various other jobs. Jeff enjoyed tinkering with all kinds of different things from building bikes to stereo equipment. Jeff would have married Mindy Scott on July 25, 2026. Jeff will be remembered for his loving and caring personality.
Those thankful for sharing in his life include his fiancée, Mindy Scott, of Burlington, his mother, Carolyn Hartman, of Fairfield and his father, Douglas Hartman, of Cedar Rapids, his children, Braiden Scott and Raeleyna Scott and his one grandson, Carter Leach and two sisters, Katrina Van Meter of Cedar Rapids and Beth Lorehzen of LeClaire.
Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Bradley Hartman and his niece, Niki Hartman.
Jeff’s family will host a celebration of his life on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 121 East Broadway Street, Fairfield, Iowa. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
