Jewel Hoover Obituary
Jewel Hoover 75, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Deb Savage officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Jewel was born on September 13, 1937, in Sneedville, TN the daughter of Hobart & Mattie Moore Hatfield. She was united in marriage to Robert Hoover on November 7, 1957, in Mt. Pleasant. Jewel worked for Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant and she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed spring flowers and watching butterflies.
She is survived by her husband Bob of Mt. Pleasant and her children: Nancy (Martin) Amos of Mt. Pleasant, Jennifer Hoover of Dallas, Texas and Dan Hoover of Bedford, Texas, grandchildren: Janeane Amos, Brandon Hoover and Brent Hoover; great grandson; Dominick Lopez; three sisters: Thelma Baker of Melia Island, Florida Silver Marlin of Morristown, Tennessee and Ruby Hatfield of McLeansboro, Illinois
Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Walter, Mac, Horace, Carson and George and one sister Goldie.
