John Lassy Obituary
John E. Lassy, 56, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Veterans Medical Center in Iowa City.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dale Welcher officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Full military honors will be conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. A memorial has been established in his memory.
John was born on May 29, 1959, in Los Angeles California, the son of Robert & Shirley May Barrett Lassy. He worked as a mechanic and a taxi cab driver for Yellow Cab of Iowa City and was very active in his native American culture. He served his country in the Army.
He is survived by his children; Joshua Lassy, John Culver, Jessica Tompkins, Jacob Lassy and Jeremiah Lassy, three grandchildren, and four sisters.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
