L. Carl Williamson 81 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Regan Stoops officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 until service time. Burial will be in the Glasgow Cemetery rural Lockridge. Memorials may be directed to the Glasgow Cemetery or to Hospice of Central Iowa in his memory.
Carl was born on June 23, 1929, at Glasgow, Iowa the son of Edwin Lewis & Mary Mildred Willis Williamson. He attended Glasgow School until 8th grade to help on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Lola A. Septer on February 15, 1950; in Mt. Pleasant she preceded him in death on February 11, 1999. He farmed most of his life and had worked at Hayworth Motors and later at Hodson-McKim Motors. He also worked for McAllister Seed Company and retired in 1994. Carl enjoyed woodworking, genealogy, reading, feeding and watching the hummingbirds and squirrels, also traveling, photography, shooting clay pigeons and spending time with his family.
Carl is survived by his children: Darrell Williamson and his wife Susan, Marilyn Williamson and her friend Bill McTee and Dorothy Williamson all of Mt. Pleasant, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His sister Doris Lawrence of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
