Larry Parker Obituary

Larry L. Parker 69, of Hillsboro passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant the family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, following the visitation his body will be cremated and graveside services will be held at a later date at White Oak Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.

Larry was born on February 24, 1944 in Mt. Pleasant the son of Edward M. & Florence Elizabeth Van Dorin Parker. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Ilene Plummer on October 17, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant. Larry served his country in the Army and was honorable discharged in 1969. He had worked at Iowa Malleable in Fairfield and later at Heatiltor in Mt. Pleasant retiring in 1999, in which he belonged to the Silver Circle Club, Iris City CB Club and his handle was Zebra 3. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife Phyllis of Hillsboro, his children; Richard L. Parker Sr. of Hillsboro, Lorrie (Kent) Lee of Mt. Pleasant, Cyndee (Danny) Triska of Mt. Pleasant and Sharon Parker (Scott Trimpe) of Williamsburg; 13 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his brother Terry (Mary) Parker of Oregon, and one sister Elaine Roach of Mt. Pleasant; several cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter; Marsha Lynn, one sister Peggy and one brother-in-law Elton Roach.
