Mark W. Christner 46, of Lockridge passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Deb Savage officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery. A memorial in the name of Mark Christner has been established.
Mark was born on March 27, 1968, in Mt. Pleasant the son of Gerald M. "Ozzie" & Karen Schmidt Christner. He graduated from Fairfield High School in the class of 1988, and was employed at Pulse Auto Salvage in Rome. Mark was a NASCAR fan and was a kid at heart. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge.
Mark is survived by his mother Karen of Lockridge, his sister: Marilyn Smith and her husband Dan of Oquawka, Illinois, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother Gordon Dale Christner.
