Mary Detrick Obituary

Mary M. Detrick 81, of rural New London passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, at the New London Nursing and Rehab Center in New London.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Salem Congregational Church with Rev. Aaron Helterbran officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Friends may call after noon on Tuesday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Salem Congregational Church and to the New London Care Center in her memory.

Mary was born on January 2, 1933, in Lewisport Kentucky, the daughter of William C. & Lucy Clark Roberts. She was united in marriage to Walter Detrick on May 5, 1951, at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on June 19, 2014. They lived in Henderson, Kentucky, and then moved to Lowell. She helped her husband with the family business of Detrick Well. She was a member of the Salem Congregational Church, Women of the Moose. Mary enjoyed her gardening, canning her produce, crocheting but most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Tom (Marcia) Detrick of Wales, Wisconsin, Randy (Tammy) Detrick of Mt. Pleasant, Steve (Nancy) Detrick of Davenport, Jacque (Rodney) Doan of Lees Summit, Missouri, Ed (Susan) Detrick of Orlando, Florida 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two brothers; Ben Roberts and Harry Roberts both of Kentucky.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters; Clara Jane and Margie and three brothers; Everett, Hubert and Jack.
