Mary Munson Obituary

Mary I. Munson 75 of Lockridge passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield with Pastor Jim Witherspoon, Pastor Ted Munson and Pastor Dan Munson officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, Iowa. Friends may call after 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at The First Baptist Church in Fairfield where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friends may also call after 1:30 on Sunday at the church where the family will be present. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in her memory.

Mary was born on August 15, 1932 in Jefferson County, Iowa the daughter of Charles & Bessie Morrow Doud. She graduated from Fairfield High School in the Class of 1950. On December 28, 1952, she was united in marriage to Harold W. Munson at the United Methodist Church in Fairfield. She worked at the Faribault Regional Center as a Human Service Technician in Faribault MN. She and her husband were joint camp directors at Dayton Oaks Camp at Dayton, Iowa. She was a great wife and mom. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield.

She is survived by her husband Harold of Lockridge, her children: Dan Munson and his wife Renae of Andover, MN, Ted Munson and his wife Shelly of Oakdale, MN and Sue Geary and her husband Dwight of Owatonna, MN. 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her sister: Marge (Kay) Book of Packwood, Iowa. Several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother John Doud.
