Maurice "Chip" Weschler Jr. 69, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt.Pleasant. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Murphy Funeral Home the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Richwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Richwood Cemetery in his memory.
Chip was born on November 22, 1941, at Chevy Chase, Maryland the son of Maurice E. & Anne Lawrence Weschler Sr. Chip graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1963, and was united in marriage to Sara Upton in 1972, at St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton, they later divorced. He was the owner of Weschler Corporation; he was passionate of helping others, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed traveling and farming. He had volunteered at Midwest Old Threshers, and was a member of the Home Builders of Southeast Iowa, Iowa Home Builders and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
He is survived by his daughter: Kathie Brune and her husband Jason of St. Paul, and two sons: Jerry Weschler and his wife Anita of Pembroke Pines, FL and Rick Weschler and his wife Tara of Palm Harbor, FL. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents, and one son Tom.
