Maxine Walker Obituary
Maxine E. (Tootie) Walker 85 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Park Place Long Term Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Ministries at 801 East Winfield Ave Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Tony Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Church. A memorial has been established to the Second Baptist Ministries in her memory.
Tootie was born on March 1, 1923 in Hamilton, Illinois the daughter of William L. & Viola Hammond Holmes. On June 17, 1972 in Rock Island, Illinois she was united in marriage to Otis Walker. She worked at Whaley's Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant then later went to work at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant, between the two places she work for 40 years. She was a member of the Second Baptist Ministries of Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by her children: Patricia Ambers of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Judith Ambers of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Perry Ambers of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Tommy Ambers of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Jan Ambers of Florida. 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four children.
