Norman L. Moehle 91, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011, at Park Place Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Bryan Katchay officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to Park Place Care Center or to Iowa Hospice in his memory.
Norman was born on July 17, 1919, at Winfield the son of Carl & Gladys Smith Moehle. He was united in marriage to Gladys McGuckin on June 1, 1946, she preceded him in death on December 18, 1970, he later married Edna Rauscher Elliot on February 27, 1981, and she preceded him in death on April 15, 1994. Norman spent his life farming in the Lockridge Community after serving in the Navy. He was a member of the Henry County Fair Board from 1973 to 1996, Henry County Farm Bureau and Henry County Cattleman Association receiving Cattleman of the year in 1995, and Wayland Tractor Club. He attended First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge.
He is survived by his brother Orlo Moehle (Helen) of Stockport, and his sister, Joanne Orr (Dale) New London, many nieces and nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, two sisters: Dorotha Cadwallader, Mary Jean Wells, one brother: Carl William Moehle, one niece: Susan Taeger and one nephew: Michael Wells.
