Otis Roberts 79 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009
at his home in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Herbert Shafer officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Murphy Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Association and the American Heart Association.
Otis was born on January 30, 1930, in Bloomfield, Iowa the son of Louie & Clara Vaughn Roberts. He attended school in Davis County. He was united in marriage to Edna Thacker on February 27, 1965, in Bloomfield. He had worked at Fairfield Glove and Rockwell International both of Fairfield, Healitor of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa Wesleyan College and was currently working at Mt. Pleasant Correctional Center, and was a farmer also.
He is survived by his wife Edna of Mt. Pleasant, sons: Daniel Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, Larry Roberts of Ottumwa, his daughter: Marilyn Crammer of Chillicothe, Missouri, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, one brother: Marvin Roberts of Bloomfield and many nieces and nephews.
Otis was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
