Paulena M. Watson 75, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday February 14, 2011, in Mt. Pleasant.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19,, 2011, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor John Zimmerman officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory. Burial will be at a later date in the Salem South Cemetery.
Paulena was born on August 25, 1935, in Iowa City the daughter of Franklin Donald & Roseanna Emma Dvorak. She was united in marriage to Roswell Wixom on June 28, 1952 in Iowa City they later divorced and she married Ted Watson on July 2, 1985 in Kahoka, Missouri, he preceded her in death. She was a waitress and cook at area restaurants.
She is survived by her children: Peggy Cox of Davenport, Mary Russell of Mt. Pleasant, Bill Wixom of Salem, Paulina Wagner of Mt. Pleasant and Teddy Watson of Mt. Pleasant. 14 grandchildren 31 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Three brothers: Jim Thomas of Moline, Illinois, Walt Thomas of Cuba, Illinois Carl Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, two sisters: Sandy Giles of Davenport and Jeanette Jennings of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers: Bob, Terry and Gene.
