Phyllis Lucille Hendricks 91, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Phyllis was born on June 2, 1922, in Henry County the daughter of George Ellis & Mina Murray Campbell. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1941 and was united in marriage to Roxie M. Hendricks on February 17, 1951, in Kahoka; he preceded her in death on May 30, 1985. She worked as a secretary for the Ford Garage and later at the Mt. Pleasant Mental Health Institute both of Mt. Pleasant. Phyllis was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #409 of New London, Daughters of Union Veterans, Iris City CB Club and enjoyed volunteering at Midwest Old Threshers.
Phyllis is survived by her two grandchildren: Robert Hendricks and his friend Terri White and Hayley Hendricks of Mt. Pleasant; a niece Marilee Donnolly and nephew Roger Campbell; several great nephews and nieces and great-great nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 1 son: Wayne, her brother: Robert Campbell and her sister Virginia Campbell.
