Phyllis Marshall Obituary
Phyllis M. Marshall 96 of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of the Hillsboro community passed away on Friday morning November 17, 2006, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. from the Hillsboro Christian Church. Rev. Dave Callen will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until service time on Tuesday at the church. Friends may call at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Monday, November 20, 2006, from 1 to 5 p.m. the family will not be present. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory.
Phyllis was born on August 2, 1910 at Keosauqua, Iowa the daughter of Benjamin F. & Priscilla E. Huffman Barnett. She married Theodore R. Marshall on July 18, 1926 at the Keosauqua Christian Church. She was a homemaker. She belonged to the Christian Church in Douds, and the Hillsboro Christian Church. She worked at the Kennedy's Nursing Home for a number of years in Mt. Pleasant, also at Moore's Nursing Home in Stockport, Iowa. She was a cook at the café in Stockport until she retired. Phyllis enjoyed her family.
She is survived by her daughters: Betty J. Hudson of Mt. Pleasant and Wilma M. Burghoffer of Donnellson. 8 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers: Harl, Jim, Ray and Floyd and 3 sisters: Chloe Warrington, Eva Marshall and Vera Heisel.
