Phyllis Skaggs Obituary

Phyllis J.(Mrs. Gene) Cox Skaggs 69 of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Batavia Iowa passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakland Mills Cemetery with the Rev. John Zimmerman officating. The family will recieve friends from 10 until service time at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society in her memory and may be sent to Becky Fraise at PO Box 843 Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Phyllis was born on July 24, 1937, at Stahl Missouri the daughter of Hugh & Edith Brockhart Polson. She was united in marriage to Harold Skaggs on April 2, 1992 in Mt. Pleasant. She had worked at Parsons College and Nelson Nursing Home both of Fairfield and at Hardees. She was an avid Cubs fan.

She is survived by children: Michelle Adolphson and her husband Harvey of Eastlake, MI, Becky Fraise and her husband Mike of Mt. Pleasant, Lisa Caudill, Anita Knickel, Carol Hollman, Sheri George all of Indiana and Bobby Skaggs and his wife Laura of Hillsboro. She has one special grand-daughter Reba and several grandchildren and great grandchildren in Iowa, Indiana and Minnesota. Three brothers: Dale Polson and Henry Polson both of Knoxville, IA and Bud Polson of Mt. Pleasant and one sister Karen Fisher of Ottumwa.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Jane Deuser and Dorothy Swanson and one brother Herbert (Shorty) Polson.
